THE TRUMP DIARIES: Day 75 or Day One

What did he say, exactly? OK, it was, “This American carnage stops right here and right now.” I had to look it up. It’s a comical phrase as well as one that’s foreboding.

It is a clear warning, and ignore it at your peril. So far there’s been no reaction on Herr Trump’s part to the massive urban rallies taking place across the United States to protest his ascention to power. But to be sure things are being put into place.

Efforts will be made to prevent these rallies. To delegitimize them. To confine them to margins.

This will be done most readily and easily by reporting news of these rallies through Trump-controlled and Trump sympathetic media. Reports of the size and value of the protests by other news sources will be dismissed, ironically, as propaganda.

The bigger questions, the ones that are needed to guarantee the success of the Trump plan is: Can he, like other movements before his, infiltrate the forces of law, local, state, and federal troops? Can he place Trump supporters into positions of authority in law enforcement?

If he can do that, then law officers will indeed enforce his orders. If he cannot, then it’s hard to say if police and military will follow orders that they disagree with. Of course, if they do not follow orders, that’s insubordination, and grounds for dismissal.

To be replaced by those loyal to Herr Trump.
